Long term suspicions of Sri Lankan fruit consumers were proved today when the municipal authorities of Colombo city raided the fruit stalls in famous Manning Market.
Municipal authorities confiscated 300 kilos of fruit from Manning Market that were not suitable for human consumption and destroyed the stock of fruit.
The fruit contained chemicals that were used to ripen them prematurely.
Public Health Department of the Colombo Municipal Council conducted the raid.
