Justice Minister Athauda Seneviratna told parliament that the reason to move amendments to increase the number of High Court judges is to ease delays in laws and streamline the judicial process.
He noted that the Judicature Act would be made more people friendly by making several new changes.
The Minister also said that laws would be amended shortly to make the necessary provision to file Human Rights cases in the Court of Appeal.
