Sri Lanka won the final match in the Micromax tri-series against India by 74 runs at Dambulla International Stadium Saturday and clinched the series.
Sri Lanka won the toss and after deciding to bat posted a challenging total of 299 with Dilshan's century and Sangakkara's 71 for India to chase.
In 300-run chase India early on lost the wicket of Karthik. Sri Lanka dashed India's hopes of winning the series by dismissing their prolific opener Virendra Sehwag for 28.
Thisara Perera and Suraj Randiv starred in the match taking three wickets each.
With the tri series win Sri Lanka ended the spell of losses at home to India in five consecutive series since July 2008.
India clinched a spot at finals eliminating New Zealand on Wednesday.
