President opens hotel school in Ratnapura

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa Tuesday declared opened the Sri Lanka Tourist Hotel Management Institute in Ratnapura constructed at a cost of 100 million rupees.
The school, constructed on funds allocated by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, has facilities to provide practical training to 240 students on hotel management for local and foreign employment in the industry.
President Rajapaksa officially admitted the first two students Nilusha Wijesiri and Madushika Kodithuwakku to the school and observed the students training in culinary art. He also launched the new web site of the regional hotel school.

The Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province V.J.M. Lokubandara, Ministers W.D.J. Seneviratne, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Atauda Seneviratne, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Deputy Ministers Jagath Balasooriya, Lalith Dissanayake, H.R. Mithrapala, Premalal Dissanayake, Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Maheepala Herath, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunga, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. P.B Jayasundara, members of the Provincial Council, and heads of the government institutions were present at the occasion.
