Courts Martial against Sri Lanka's ex-Army Commander to meet on August 07 and 09

The first Court Martial investigating the charges against Sri Lanka's ex-Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka on his alleged involvement in politics while in uniform has decided to meet for five consecutive days from August 09 to 13.


The Court Martial met today at the Navy headquarters, but did not hear evidence since the defence counsel for the retired General, Rienzie Arsacularatne did not appear.
The second Court Martial that is investigating charges against General Fonseka on corruption in military procurements is to meet on August 07.
