The Colombo Municipal Council of Sri Lankan capital city has given a grace period of 14 days from yesterday to the offenders to remove unauthorized publicity hoardings in the city limits.
The Special Commissioner of Colombo Municipal Council Omar Kamil said that all unauthorized hoardings would be removed after the grace period.
The persons who have erected these hoardings do not pay due taxes and also cause nuisance to public through setting up the hoardings at unsuitable places.
Earlier, the Child and Women's Bureau of Police took action to remove 40 hoardings that included content not suitable for public view.
