Sri Lanka's former Army Commander and Democratic National Alliance (DNA) parliamentarian retired General Sarath Fonseka today said the government was planning to get former LTTE international wing leader Kumaran Pathmanadan alias KP to contest the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) election.
General Fonseka told parliament during the second reading debate on the 2010 budget that government has allowed KP to meet with Government Agents and other officials in the North.
He also noted that the government has failed to take action against VAT fraudsters and that some government members even stayed at a hotel run by the main VAT defaulter in Dubai.
