The 225-member Sri Lanka Parliament has passed the Second Reading of the Budget for 2010 this evening with a majority of 63 votes.
When the vote was taken for the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill today at 6:00 p.m. 138 members were in favour and 75 were against it.
The bill was presented for the remainder of the 2010. A complete budget for 2011 is to be presented in November 2010.
During the budget debate ruling party parliamentarian Chandima Weerakkodi suggested the opposition to support the budget in order to carry forward Sri Lanka President's program Mahinda Chintanaya future vision.
