Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa attended the 'Tharu Dilena Reyak' musical extravaganza held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo on Saturday night.
The gala music show was organized by the Sri Lanka Army under the Brave Hearts project, to raise funds to build 'Abhimansala', a wellness resort for the permanently disabled war veterans.
The constructions of the project at an estimated cost of Rs. 200 million began in May this year on state allocated land in Anuradhapura.
Performances by a galaxy of leading and most popular artistes, vocalists, stars, dancers and disable war veterans entertained over 4,000 spectators at the show.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya presented a memento to the President for his participation.
Minister C.B Ratnayake, Secretary to President Lalith Weerathunge, Defense Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Navy commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, President's Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath and large number of distinguished guests participated in the event.
