First Lady visits hospitals in Northern Sri Lanka

The First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa recently visited the eye wards of Jaffna Teaching hospital and Vavuniya Hospital to inquire into the health of patients receiving treatment after cataract surgery conducted by Indian doctors under a special programme sponsored by Veteran Bollywood actor Salman Khan.



Salman Khan Foundation of India has sponsored the services of Indian doctors to perform cataract surgeries for the needy Sri Lankan patients in the North.

Mrs. Rajapaksa donated lenses, eye drops and equipment to be used in cataract surgeries to the hospital during her visit.
