Sri Lanka's main opposition MP calls the proposed party reforms a farce

Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party Colombo District parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayaka today (16) charged that the proposed party reforms were a mere farce.

Karunanayaka told the media at the Opposition Leader's Office in Colombo that party reforms should be aimed at empowering the UNP to win an election and not please a few party members who shouted.
He also charged that the Reforms Committee appointed to draft the reforms to be implemented in the UNP could not be trusted. However, responding to a question by journalist if there was a rift between UNP Hambantota parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa and himself, Karunanayaka denied such a scenario.
