Sri Lanka, Pakistan to open Asia Cup today

Hosts Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan today in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2010 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in North Central Sri Lanka.


The 50 over One Day International (ODI) match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 local time.

Sri Lanka has won the last two Asia Cup Championships and is the favorite to win. However, two key players from the 2008 Asia Cup, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Ajantha Mendis have not been selected for this tournament.

All four major South Asian cricketing countries, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan participate in the Asia Cup 2010.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) will provide live streaming of the commentaries covering the Asia Cup 2010 matches involving the Sri Lankan team on www.srilankacricket.lk for the global listeners.
