Let’s work cautiously without working in haste – Wimal Weerawansa tells Ven. Rathana Thero

NFF Leader Minister Wimal Weerawansa had yesterday morning informed JHU Chairman Ven. Athuraliya Rathana Thero that regardless of the treatment meted out to them by the governing UPFA, they need to be patient and act cautiously,Web reliably learns.

JHU leaders like Champika Ranakwa have managed to oust JHU leader Ven. Ellawela Medhanandha Thero who had allegedly got the President to cut out the name of Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thero, who was proposed by the JHU to be included in the National List, and include his name instead.

The NFF is also faced with a similar situation. The NFF’s National List nominee, former parliamentarian Mohomad
Mussamil’s name was removed on a Presidential directive, and Achala Jagoda’s name was included as the NFF National List member.
However, Wimal Weerawnasa managed to find some solace by reprimanding the UPFA General Secretary before the media.
The leaders of both parties have now arrived at a firm decision to not allow either the President or Basil Rajapaksa to create any internal conflicts in their respective parties.
Political analysts say that the JHU’s move to remove Ven. Medhanandha Thero from the party leadership at the party convention on the 19th is a great ‘slap in the face’ for the President.
