Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe yesterday (11) met Indian External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna in New Delhi.
Wickremasinghe who is currently on a four-day private visit to India has discussed several bilateral issues, including the issue of Sri Lankan Tamils with the Indian Minister, Indian media reported.
The leader of United National Party (UNP) is facing threats to his leadership after his party's continual loss of successive elections. He is being pressured from the senior party members to step down as the party leader and the party is to undergo reforms.
Daily Mirror online quoting party sources reported that Wickremasinghe has expressed his willingness to quit from the leadership of the party if senior members of the main opposition were unhappy about his leadership.
