Sri Lankan government has appointed the prominent Sri Lankan business tycoon Harry Jayawardene to head the money-losing Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
Jayawardene who currently holds chairman position of several business enterprises including the Distilleries Company and diversified Aitken Spence group is to assume his new responsibilities early next week, Petroleum Resources Ministry Secretary H.T.M. Jayawardena announced this evening.
He was formerly the Chairman of SriLankan Airlines and the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.
