Sri Lanka to give India a Sri Maha Bodhi sapling

Apr 28,  Sri Lanka is to gift a sapling of the most sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura to India to mark the 2600th anniversary of Buddha Jayanthi.

A ten-member Indian delegation backed by the Indian government has arrived in Anuradhapura to receive the sapling that is to be planted in the new Buddha Udyana being created in Patna.
