
A 60-year-old man was charred to death when a LPG cylinder burst while he was sleeping in a house near Udhagamandalam today, police saidBody parts were found strewn outside the house and two rooms were damaged in the impact of the blast, police said.
The man, a retired bus conductor and working as caretaker of the house, was sleeping near the kitchen after lighting fire to a woodlog and dry leaves to beat the biting cold.
The spark from the fire could have resulted in the blast, police said.
