Minister Aluthgamage complains to President of General Fonseka threatening to hit him
A senior official from Temple Trees told Lanka News Web that Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage had complained to the President last evening that Chief of Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka had threatened to hit him at the felicitation ceremony for the security forces held in Matale on the 18th.
According to the source, the incident had taken place during the felicitation ceremony held for the security forces personnel from the Central Province. Minister Aluthgamage, who has been making critical remarks about the General had walked up to him in Matale and said, “Ah, Sarath Aiya, how are you now?” The Minister had also said he did everything on behalf of the President to safeguard him.
The General had responded by saying, “You people don’t need to tire yourselves to protect the President. The Army has protected him for the past three years.”
