The Chief Editor of ‘Lanka Irida’ weekend Sinhalese newspaper Chandana Sirimalwatta, who was arrested yesterday (17th) evening by Homagama Police and taken to Criminal Investigation Department, was released after he was questioned for nearly 3 hours. CID officers had questioned Mr. Sirimalwatta regarding the sources from which the main headline of ‘Lanka Irida’ to be released was compiled from. The newspaper was released to paper stands on Friday. Mr. Sirimalwatta has been released after taking a statement from him.
Speaking to ‘Lankatruth’ Mr. Sirimalwatta said all articles that are published in the newspaper
were based on statements made by government ministers.
