Three police officers arrested in Sri Lanka for a killing attributed to LTTE in 2008


Sri Lanka police have arrested three police officers under suspicion of killing three people in a former conflict area in 2008. A confession of a person involved in the murder has led to the arrests. The police officers included an inspector, a sergeant and a constable. They were arrested from Thambalagamuwa, Serunuwara and Anuradhapura Udamaluwa police stations. The three police officers have allegedly killed three civilians in Gomarankadawala in Trincomalee district in 2008. The Police believed the killings were committed by members of the Tamil Tiger terrorist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) who were active in the area at the time. -->
