Three Buddhist monks surrendered to the police over the attack on a Muslim-owned clothing store in a suburb of the Sri Lankan capital Colombo are to be arraigned today.The three monks, who surrendered to the Mirihana Police Special Investigations Unit Monday over the attack on the Fashion Bug store in Pepiliyana on last Thursday night, will be produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate today. Two other suspects, who have also surrendered to the police with the monks yesterday, will be produced before the court today, the police spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardena said. The police have so far arrested 17 suspects over the incident. Six other suspects arrested by the police on Sunday have been produced in the court. The magistrate has released one suspect on bail and ordered the others to be remanded. The mob, led by the Buddhist monks, has pelted stones at the clothing store damaging the property and injuring three people
