Supreme Court interpretation could be changed, Sri Lankan minister says
A Sri Lankan government minister has said that the Supreme Court interpretation on the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice could be changed in future.
General Secretary of ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), Minister Susil Premajayantha has told a private electronic media that Supreme Court rulings were not ever lasting and the Court's interpretation on the impeachment of the Chief Justice could be changed.
He has explained that a ruling by a three member bench could be changed by a five member bench.
When questioned on how a Chief Justice could be removed by a President without an impeachment, Premajayantha has said that it could be witnessed in future.
