The price of one kilogram of wheat flour has been increased with effect from midnight Friday (26), official sources said.
Both the two major milling companies Prima and Serendib have raised the prices of wheat flour.
The Price of one kilo Prima flour will be increased by Rs. 6 and one kilo Serendib flour by Rs.4. The two companies increased the prices last in April by Rs. 8.50. Both milling companies Prima and Serendib have requested a price hike due to losses incurred in the importing of wheat flour following the depreciation of the rupee and increase in transport costs. -->
