A Sri Lankan court has today ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to acquire medical reports and prepare a proper report on governing party parliamentarian Duminda Silva's health conditions.
Silva, who is a main suspect in Presidential Advisor Bharatha Lakshaman Premachandra's killing, is currently receiving medical treatment in Singapore for the serious injuries he received during the shooting incident in Mulleriyawa on October 8th that killed Premachandra and four others. Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis has directed the CID to present the report to courts at the next hearing of Premachandra's murder case on July 24th. The magistrate has issued the directive after the counsel appearing for the aggrieved party had told court that there were many rumors about Silva's health condition and there was a need for an accurate health report. The CID has also informed court that it is yet to receive Attorney General's advice on proceeding further in the case. The CID has also been directed to call for Attorney General's advice.
