Former deputy leader of Sri Lanka opposition party and wife injured in road accident

Former deputy leader of Sri Lanka opposition United National Party and Gampaha district parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya and his wife had met with a road accident today. Jayasuriya and his wife were injured when their vehicle ran off the road and fell into a nearby pit along the road between Hambantota and Tangalle, the police said.
The parliamentarian has been rushed to the Hambantota hospital with injuries while his wife was treated for minor injuries at the outpatient department.
