Former Minister to quit opposition leader post of Colombo Municipal Council to join WB

Former United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) parliamentarian and Cabinet Minister Milinda Moragoda, who is the Opposition Leader of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), will resign as a Councillor to accept a post at the World Bank.
The CMC sources said the former Minister who held cabinet portfolios of Justice, Tourism, Economic Reform, Science and Technology in the UPFA government will officially announce his decision at a meeting of the opposition group at the CMC on Wednesday (25). Moragoda is currently a Senior Adviser to President Mahinda Rajapaksa. CMC sources further said that several UPFA councillors are competing for Moragoda's post.
