Parliamentary office of former Deputy Leader of Sri Lanka opposition closed

Sri Lanka Opposition Chief Whip John Amaratunga has informed in writing to the secretary of the Opposition Leader to keep the office room used by the United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya locked. Opposition Chief Whip has written that Karu Jayasuriya is no longer a Deputy Leader of the party. Jayasuriya's office room is located in the office of the Opposition Leader in the parliamentary complex.
Opposition Chief Whip has asked the room that is allocated to the UNP kept locked until further notice. Accordingly, Karu Jayasuriya has removed his documents and staff from the room and the room now remains closed, parliamentary sources said.
