We denounce TNA MP Sritharan's statement

We vehemently condemn the irresponsible statement given by the Parliamentarian Sivagnanam Sritharan assuming that the Eelam Peoples' Democratic Party (EPDP) was involved in the attack on the Jaffna University Students Union President Subramaniyam Thanabalasingam
Sivagnanam Sritharan is attempting to muster support of the University students due to the rift within the Tamil National Alliance (TNA). In a secret meeting held between Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, Padmini Sithamparanathan and Selvarajah Kajendran who contested against the TNA during the last General Election, the University Students' Union leader Thanabalasingam also participated. News reveals that parliamentarian Sivagnanam Sritharan is closely attached with this group who held the secret meeting.

At this juncture parliamentarian Sritharan is attempting to divert their assault incident and to put the blame on the EPDP in order to conceal the rifts and differences among them. We strongly denounce this type of cowardly attack and request to bring the culprits to the book.

While we denounce the assault on the University Student leader we condemn the irresponsible statement of Parliamentarian Sritharan.
