Sri Lanka Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Somawansa Amarasinghe faction says that police disrupted a propaganda seminar that was organized to be held in Matara town of Southern Province today.
The JVP said that police had removed the propaganda material of the seminar that were in display in the town. According to a JVP spokesman, police had told them that their action was due to an order from higher authorities.
However, the seminar was later held without disturbance in the Sanasa Auditorium in the town.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva addressed the seminar titled 'The Way We Came and the Way Forward.'
