Public debate not in mandate of Lokpal panel, says Kapil Sibal

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal said that issues raised by social activist Anna Hazare and Shanti Bhushan have been 'extraneous'.

"Demand for public debate not in mandate of Lokpal panel. We have been called cheats, yet we have always cooperated," said Sibal.

Sibal also said that Hazare's language against the government is not acceptable.

"We drafted and finalised several sections of the Lokpal Buill," said Sibal.
