Vaiko attacks Karunanithi and Jayalalithaa

Mr. Vaiko the leader of MDMK which has decided not to contest in the ensuing Tamil Nadu election has given an interview to a local television ‘Imayam” today. . Mr. Vaiko accused both Karunanithi and Jayalalithaa for pushing MDMK out of alliance in each occasion in the past.

“ I am not a jockey; I am a fighting horse. The decision made for not contesting elections was arrived after much deliberations within the party. I do not wish to be a party to facilitate success of any one.” Mr Vaiko explained.

“Certain situations are not created by us. Circumstances push us towards such situations.’ Vaiko made this remark by referring to Anna the founder of DMK who made similar remark on his exit from the parent party DK led by Periyar.

Mr Vaiko claimed that the his removal from DMK made him to launch his own party although he never dreamed about leaving DMK and launching a new party. Mr Vaiko explained how Mr. Karunanithi lied and pushed him out of DMK alliance in the previous occasion. On both such occasions it was the situation which made the decisions according to Vaiko. And similar situation has arrived now also.

Mr Vaiko was agitated while explaining how AIADMK started their alliance discussions by offering 6 seats only increasing to 7 and 8 and climbing down to 7 again and finally offering just 9 all in single digits. Vaiko said he came down from 40 to 21 and was not agreeable below that number. He regretted being a trusted ally for all these years he should have been called first and his party MDMK should have been given preference in allotment of seats in AIADMK combine but it did not happen in that way; The new comers and late comers were given preference instead. This was a plot which was executed with the knowledge of Jayalalitha to make MDMK to leave the alliance.

He further elaborated on his decision not to continue in AIADMK combine by stating that ‘After this incident it is confirmed that Jayalalitha has not reformed. There is no change in her approach as believed. After knowing this, seeking vote for AIADMK shall be a betrayal of people. “

Mr Vaiko said “ Now, even if Jayalalithaa offers more than 36 seats I will not reconsider my decision. Accepting the offer of Jayalalithaa will amount to buying an art by selling the eyes. It is important to have self respect and self esteem over anything else.’

Mr Vaiko explained that MDMK had already passed a resolution in 2001 Trichy MDMK conference to be an alternative to both DMK and AIADMK and now the party has come to that natural course of action.

Mr Vaiko concluded his interview by citing lines from poet Bharathi and said he will speak only truth from the bottom of his heart.
