University teachers of Sri Lanka to get a 28% academic and research allowance

Sri Lanka Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake says the circular regarding the academic allowance for the university teachers will be issued today.


The Minister said that the issue was discussed with the Inter University Trade Union Federation and the matter was resolved amicably.

Accordingly, the university lecturers will be paid a 28% academic and research allowance from this month. Arrears will be paid from January this year.
