Sri Lanka's Court of Appeal has today rejected a writ application filed by the main opposition United National Party (UNP).
The Court of Appeal has rejected the UNP's application asking the rejection of the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) nomination list for the Chilaw Pradeshiya Sabha.
The UNP petition has stated that the UPFA has included the name of a person who is above the age of 35 under the youth category in its nominations for the Chilaw Pradeshiya Sabha.
The UNP has maintained that the UPFA nomination list should therefore be rejected.
The Court of Appeal had rejected the application after taking into account the initial objections.
