Minister says Sri Lankan government should be clear with its stance on national policies

A government minister has said noted that a clear stance on national policies by the government would help social integration in the country.

National Language and Social Integration Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara has been quoted in the media saying that if the government makes its stance clear on national policies like the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, it would help his ministry to work efficiently on social integration.
According to Nanayakkara, the government's failure to do so has made it difficult to bring the nation together after the war due to the barriers in administration.

He has also noted that his Democratic Left Front (DLF), which is a member of the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), had always insisted that the representative bodies of the authorities should be of the predominant ethnicity of the area.
