Sri Lanka's child authority unable to care for the street children due to the lack of funds

Sri Lanka's National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) is faced with difficulties in caring for street children due to the lack of funds.

NCPA Chairperson Anoma Dissanayake has told the media today that the Authority did not have sufficient funding to provide the children with their requirements.

According to the Chairperson, the NCPA is faced with a problem in providing food and clothes for 21 street children taken under the authority's care.

Dissanayake has said the Authority could care for these children only for a few more days with the funds available to them.
