The Sri Lankan government has decided to appoint a Cabinet sub committee on cost of living to look at ways to provide relief to the masses.
Amidst claims by opposition politicians of the rising cost of living, the Cabinet of ministers has decided that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will chair the sub committee that will include the Prime Minister and 15 ministers.
Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Keheliya Rambukwella told the media today that the committee would make the necessary recommendations on providing relief to the general public.
