Procession to show solidarity with the Sri Lankan President in Jaffna

Thousands of people in Sri Lanka's Northern Jaffna peninsula today held a procession to show support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his government.

The main ruling coalition partner Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Jaffna branch organized the procession held in the Jaffna town this morning to show solidarity with President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Supporters chanting slogans and carrying banners condemned the pro-LTTE protests held in London against the President, local media reported.

Earlier people in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, and Wanni areas held similar protests to show support to the government.
