Complaint lodged with Sri Lanka's CID against opposition politicians

The leader of Sri Lanka National Front Wimal Geeganage lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against the United National Party parliamentarian Jayalath Jayawardena and Left Front leader Dr. Wickramabahu Karunarathne.

Geeganage complained that the two politicians acted in a way the Tamil Tiger terrorism was promoted when they were in London recently.

He also said that his party would lead a protest against these two politicians country wide. However, Sri Lanka National Front is a fairly unknown political party in Sri Lanka.

An unidentified mob attacked the members of Left Front who were returning to the island from a London tour yesterday. A journalist, who was with the group, accused that a Minister has orchestrated the attack.

Meanwhile, Minister of Enterprise Development Sarath Gunarathna said that people protested them at the airport and the traitors would have to face such circumstances.
