The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Chamber of Commerce today to develop bilateral trade between the two countries, with special reference to the North East region.
The President of the NCCSL, Chandra Lal de Alwis has said that the two countries would focus on the bilateral trade in key areas of tourism, fishery, agriculture, connectivity, and networking.
The ICC in this connection is organizing a "Integrating BIMSTEC 2010" conference on Friday the Indian news agency Press Trust of India reported.
Senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and trade bodies of several South East Asian countries are expected to discuss the trade prospects in the North Eastern region.
