The Sri Lankan parliament has decided to appoint a special committee headed by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa to inquire into the recent flooding of the parliament complex.
The committee is to propose measures to be adopted to prevent the flooding of the parliament complex in future.
The committee is to also to include leaders of political parties represented in the parliament.
Torrential rains experienced last week resulted in the flooding of the parliament complex. The carpeting and sound system in the House were damaged by the floods.
