The Expo 2010 Shanghai China Summit Forum issued the Shanghai Declaration to re-define some basic principles for urban development. The participant nations pledged to build cities that establish harmony between diverse people, between development and environment and between cultural legacies and future innovations.
The 184-day Expo held under the theme of "Better City, Better Life", drew 246 participated countries and international organizations.
