Buddhist Temple of USA holds Katina Ceremony

The Indiana Buddhist Temple in the United States held its annual Katina (offering or robes) Ceremony on October 23rd with the participation of several Buddhist monks from Sri Lanka and Burma and nuns (Bhikkunis) from the Vietnamese Temple in Indianapolis.


The day-long event commenced with an Alms Rounds (Pindapatha) by sixteen monks and nuns included Buddha Puja, Sangika Dana, Chanting of Pirith, and a colorful Katina procession.
A statue of Guam Yin Bodhisattva made in Vietnam was also unveiled at the Temple premises.
The Katina program was organized by the resident monks Venerable Neluwe Seelawimala and Venerable Babarende Sumedha under the guidance of chief monk Venerable Talangama Devananda.
