Sri Lankan nurses at Kalubovila Teaching Hospital on strike

Sri Lanka Government Nursing Officers Association (GNOA) has said that nurses at the Kalubovila Teaching Hospital are on a work strike.

The GNOA told the local media that the nurses at the Kalubovila Hospital had launched the strike calling on the Health Ministry to withdraw the letter sent to the nurses who had participated in the three-hour walk out on Monday (25).
Nurses attached to several government hospitals staged a walk-out Monday demanding the health authorities to address their grievances.

Following the walk-out, the Health Ministry had requested all hospitals to hand a list of names of the nurses who participated in the trade union action and a letter was sent to them calling for explanation.
