Sri Lanka President receives warm welcome in Shanghai

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Saturday for a two-day official visit to Shanghai in China.


Mr. Cai Wei, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shanghai Committee received the President and his delegation at the airport.


President Rajapaksa is seen here being warmly welcomed by the Chinese students at the entrance of the Shangri-La hotel in Shanghai.


President Rajapaksa is scheduled to view the Expo 2010 Shanghai China Exhibition today. He is also expected to meet Chinese leaders for bilateral discussions.
Ministers Prof. G.L. Peiris and Wimal Weerawansa, President's Coordinating Secretary MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Karunatileka Amunugama accompanied the President.
