Sri Lanka government streamlines pensions of the public servants with IT

Sri Lanka government has launched a e-pension project to streamline the pension scheme of the public servants.

The project is to be inaugurated at the Department of Pension on next Wednesday under the patronage of Minister of Public Administration W.D.J. Senevirathne.
The e-pension project is jointly implemented by the Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and the Department of Pensions.

The entire process from the preparation to the provision of pensions will come under a thorough transformation through this process, reported SLBC, the state radio of Sri Lanka.

The E-pension scheme is the fulfillment of a pledge given through Mahinda Chinthana to discharge the government's responsibility on senior citizens and to bestow an honorary position to the pensioners, the state radio announced.
