Nine suspects arrested in the shooting death of the seven-year-old boy in Beruwela

Sri Lanka police have arrested nine suspects including five policemen in a shooting incident in Beruwela where a seven-year-old boy was fatally shot during crossfire between a gang of robbers and the Police.

Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told local media that the nine suspects include five policemen and four civilians.
The shooting incident happened Wednesday (15) in Beruwela, about 50 kilometers south of Colombo. Reportedly the victim was in a trishaw that came to re-fuel at a gas station when he was accidentally shot.

The injured child succumbed to his injuries after he was admitted to the Kalutara General Hospital.
