Tamil politicians in Sri Lanka's East discuss security issues with the military

Tamil political parties operating in the Eastern Province in Sri Lanka, especially, in the Batticaloa District had held a discussion with the military about security concerns in the area.

The local media reported today that the Tamil politicians and army personnel had discussed security issues and an incident which had occurred on Friday (20) night.
An unidentified group had stolen the weapon of a police officer while he was on duty near the Batticaloa railway station on Friday.
Representatives from TELO, TMVP, PLOTE, EPDP, EROS and EPRLF had attended the meting and had extended support to the military on security related issues.
The politicians have also expressed their support to nab the suspects involved in Friday's incident.
