Sri Lanka's Marxist alliance to agitate for the release of its arrested members

Sri Lanka's Democratic National Alliance (DNA) is to hold a massive protest in Fort, Colombo at 4 p.m. today against the arrest of its members including two parliamentarians in Galle on Thursday (12)
.The main constituent partner of the DNA, the Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna says that it has already informed its membership island wide to attend the protest in Colombo.
JVP Secretary Tilvin Silva meanwhile said the party would file a fundamental rights petition against the police for the arrest of its party members.
DNA parliamentarians Vijitha Herath, Ajith Kumara, Provincial Councilor Nalin Hewage and 10 other DNA members were arrested on Thursday after they participated in a protest calling for the release of General Sarath Fonseka in Galle.
The Police say the parliamentarians came into the police station and behaved aggressively damaging property belonging to the police station to get the arrested DNA members released
