Sri Lanka Police arrest two men impersonating CID officers in Colombo

Sri Lanka Police have arrested two men who posed as CID officials and allegedly extorted money and jewellery from Tamil persons in the Mount Lavinia and Wellawatte areas in Colombo.

Police Spokesperson SP Prishantha Jayakody said the suspects had threatened the traders with arrest on the charge of supporting the LTTE and had taken away their cash and jewelry.
According to police inquiries the suspects were residents of Kadawatha and Maradana
