Distressed due to erratic monsoon, Karnataka on Tuesday informed the Monitoring Committee of the Cauvery River Authority that it is not possible to release water to Tamil Nadu (TN) now.
During the 25th meeting of the committee in New Delhi, Karnataka chief secretary S V Ranganath said the farmers in the state are suffering due to water problem owing to bad monsoon and hence it is not possible to release water to Tamil Nadu.
He told the committee that the state would release water after rains.
